Cookie Policy
The cookies and similar technologies OnCampusDaily uses, why, and how to manage them.
1. What this covers
This policy explains the cookies and similar browser-storage technologies OnCampusDaily uses when you visit the Platform, and how you can manage them. It should be read alongside the Privacy & Data Protection Policy.
2. Essential cookies
These are required for the Platform to function and cannot be switched off: authentication session cookies (keeping you signed in), security cookies (protecting against cross-site request forgery and similar attacks), and load-balancing/routing cookies used by our hosting infrastructure. Blocking these will prevent you from signing in or using core features.
3. Preference cookies
Where used, these remember choices you have made (for example, a dismissed notice) so you are not asked again on every visit. These are not required for the Platform to function.
4. Analytics
We record certain in-app events (such as page/content views and searches) as described in the Privacy & Data Protection Policy to understand platform usage. This is currently implemented as first-party, server-recorded event logging rather than a third-party analytics cookie — we do not currently use a third-party web analytics cookie provider. If that changes, this policy will be updated to name the provider and describe the cookie it sets.
5. Advertising
Sponsored-content impression and click tracking (see the Advertising & Sponsored Content Agreement) is currently implemented as first-party, server-recorded event logging tied to your account session, not a third-party advertising cookie. If a third-party advertising cookie is introduced in the future, this policy will be updated accordingly and, where required, additional consent will be requested.
6. Third-party cookies
Where the Platform embeds or links to a third-party service (for example, a payment provider's checkout page, or an external Program's registration site), that service may set its own cookies once you are on its page, governed by its own cookie/privacy policy, not this one.
7. Managing cookies
You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies will affect your ability to sign in and use the Platform; blocking preference cookies has a smaller effect (you may see a dismissed notice again). Because analytics and advertising tracking on the Platform are currently first-party and account-session-based rather than cookie-based, browser cookie controls do not directly affect them — see the Privacy & Data Protection Policy for how to exercise your rights over that data instead.
8. Changes
We will update this policy if the cookies or technologies we use change materially, including if we introduce a third-party analytics or advertising cookie provider. Contact [PRIVACY_CONTACT_EMAIL — set in packages/constants/src/legal/contacts.ts before publishing] with questions.
